Alfred Donald MacDonald, better known as "Don" or "Mac," went to his heavenly home Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the age of 68.
Service: 12:30 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the missions program at First Baptist Church of Rendon, 5475 FM Road 1187, Burleson, Texas 76028, Zeke Taylor, pastor, 817-247-1573.
He was born and grew up in Collinsville, Ill., until he left and went into the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country. Never a man to stay idle, he later went to work for the U.S. Postal Service until he again retired.
Don loved the Lord, his family, and this country in the true Scottish tradition. We will miss his sense of humor, those smiles and the laughter that were so much a part of him, and those gems of wisdom he freely bestowed upon us.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvah W. "Scottie" MacDonald and Mary Evelyn Holloway; and wife, Katherine "Kitty Beth" MacDonald.
Survivors: Sister, Nancy Gavillet (Wayne); brother, Alvah Thomas MacDonald; wife, Theresa MacDonald; sons, Alvah Darin MacDonald, Adrian Donald MacDonald (Jana) and Arthur KC Barefoot (Jenifer); daughters, Sheri Lynn Flood (Gary), Bonnie Kathleen Crutcher (Richie), Theresa Kay Barefoot and Carla Jean Ortega (Leonel); grandchildren, Jeremy Wade Miller, Ashley Stephens Miller (Patrick), Amberli Strickland, Megan MacDonald, Garrett Wernli, Aidan and Autumn MacDonald, Yvette and Sophia Ortega; and great-granddaughter, Akari Miller. Don will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins and a multitude of friends.
