Arthur Lee Blackwood, 85, of Mansfield passed away Friday, March 17, 2017.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Interment at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation 6-8 p.m. tonight at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who always had a great sense of humor. He was hardworking and dedicated to his family. He served as the Postmaster of Mansfield, Texas for 14 years from 1974-1988. He was in the Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart in the Korean War. Arthur was also a Mason for 50 plus years. He was an avid fisherman, horseman, and hunter.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Blackwood; his parents, Cecil and Anna Mae Blackwood; brother Bobby Blackwood.
Survived by his sons, Gary Blackwood of Burleson, Rick Blackwood and wife, Linda of Alvarado; daughter, Marla Jackson and husband, Don of Keene; sister, Wanda Peterson-Duke; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, including his oldest grandson, Lee who was his primary caregiver for the last years of his life.
