Aubrey Bernard “Sonny” Peterson, 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Funeral Service 11am Friday at Saint Barnabas United Methodist Church 5011 W Pleasant Ridge Road Arlington, TX 76016.
Interment at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Coach Peterson devoted his life to the education profession with Fort Worth ISD for 35 years. He was a teacher, a coach, and an Administrator. Many of his students, athletes, teachers, and colleagues have shared their stories about the wisdom or knowledge Coach Peterson imparted to help them along their own paths. He loved to fish and to cook and to spend time with family and friends watching whatever sports or teams were playing for the championship at every level; high school, college, or professional.
Preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Peterson Sr. and Mary Washington Peterson.
Survived by his loving wife, Betty Jean Peterson; son, Aubrey Damone Peterson; son Roderick “Rod” Peterson and wife, Imelda, and their son, Aubrey Wellington “Wells” Peterson, Coach Peterson’s one and only dearly beloved grandchild, and a host of many more family and friends.
