Bernace Elaine Schei LeMaster passed away Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at the age of eighty-four. Services will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, August 25th at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale. Bernace lived a full life dedicated to her faith, her family and the nursing profession. She was born May 13th, 1934 to Ben and Grace Watkins Schei in Bottineau, North Dakota. Her family moved to San Diego for her father’s health where she met Roy Bernard LeMaster. They were married in 1953. She was predeceased by her daughter, Michele Finnell and three of her grandchildren, Courtney and Andrew Finnell, Laura LeMaster and her former husband Roy LeMaster. She is survived by her brother, Ken Schei, in San Diego, her daughter Janine LeMaster, in Mansfield and her son Dale LeMaster in Granbury and her daughters-in-law Victoria LeMaster and Anna LeMaster. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, many loving in-laws, nephews and nieces. Her mother Grace was a nurse and Bernace not only continued that tradition of service, but passed it along to her daughter, Michele. She earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing. Bernace both practiced nursing and taught nursing at Texas Tech and Cooke County College. She was respected by her students and diligently nurtured them while also challenging them to master their vital life-saving skills. She took great delight in the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was loved by all of her extensive family. After her faith, family and profession, ice hockey was the great passion in her life. Her wonderful caregiver Tracey Beasley ensured Bernace made it to hockey games and other outings she still enjoyed and took great care of her for the last six years.
