Betty Locke

Betty LaVerne Locke passed away on January 11, 2023 at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Justin, Texas.  She was born on March 22, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas to Hollis and Irene Grimes Bryant.

Betty grew up in Lufkin, Texas and graduated from Lufkin High School.  After high school she owned her own ceramic shop and taught art classes at TCU.  She worked at St. Joseph Hospital  in Fort Worth until she retired due to the onset of Alzheimer’s.

Betty married Allan Locke on May 22, 1986.  They were happily married for 36 years.  She loved crocheting, sewing, fishing and most of all, Allan and her son Dennis.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nell, brothers Childress and Raymond and a son, Charles.

Betty is survived by her husband Allan of Rendon, Texas, son Dennis (Kay) Henderson of Flower Mound, Texas and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.  A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills at 1:00 pm, January 17, 2023.  Burial will follow at the same location.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Longmeadow Nursing Home for their constant care and friends & neighbors for their love and support over the years.

Betty had a heart full of love and laughter that would fill a room with joy!  We love you, pretty angel!
