Betty Jo (Carpenter) Mullins, from Arlington, Texas, passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born in Roaring Springs, Texas at the family home of “Jolly” Murphy Carpenter and “Sally” Sarah (Bell) Carpenter. She spent her growing years with her 8 brothers and sisters in Roaring Springs at that same family home.
After finishing school, she met the love of her life, Delma Wayne “Moon” Mullins and they were married for 43 years. Through their union, 3 children were born… Stephen Wayne Mullins, Suzanne Mullins, and Douglas Ray Mullins. Their love was always strong until Delma passed away in 1991, and she has loved him still to her dying day.
Betty always loved her yard and gardens, especially her bluebonnets! Her greatest love of all though was her children, and especially her grandchildren. She flourished in watching them grow up, and had the love and knowledge to just let them grow, explore, and learn with their innocence. She cherished the babies. They were her greatest joy. She spent many years at Milby Road Baptist Church teaching little ones the story of Jesus and the Lord, which was and always has been, her greatest joy. Besides her family, her faith and religion was something that gave her so much strength.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Delma Wayne Mullins, son Stephen Wayne Mullins, and 6 of her siblings; James M. Carpenter, Ola Fish, Marie Judd, Dick T. Carpenter, Murtice Denison, and Devonne Dillard.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Kay Spiller and husband Bob Spiller, her brother Lewis Haley Carpenter and wife Jeanine Carpenter. Daughter Suzanne Marsh and husband James “Max” Marsh, her son Douglas Ray Mullins and wife, Debbie Mullins, and Daughter-In-Law Terry Mullins.
Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren: Rebecca Mullins & daughter Daphne Strawn. Amanda Mullins & her children Madison Stricker, Jeremy Lipe, Jaycob Lipe, and Aubrey Lipe. Jennifer Lynch & her husband Jared Lynch, & their children, Ehlana Favela, Alexandra Lynch, Adrien Favela, Emma Lynch, and Colyn Lynch. Christopher Wayne Mullins.
