FORT WORTH -- Billy Joe "Big John" Joel, 48, began walking in freedom with God on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
The past is history. The future a mystery. But we will hold dear our memories of him, his smile, the sound of his laughter forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. Sr. and Betty Jo Joel; and brothers, Hurbert W. and Jerry Don Joel.
Survivors: Son, Cody Joe Joel; former wife, Roxanne Joel; granddaughter, Chasity M. Joel; brothers, Paul Gregory Joel, Howard and Christine Joel and Timmy Joel; best friend, Glenda Adams; and a host of other family and friends.
