Bobbie Jean (Bell) Hays passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022 at the age of 88. She was born on January 19, 1934 to Lewis and Lola (Parker) Bell in Three Forks Community, near Belton, Texas. She grew up in and around Belton and Temple, Texas.
Bobbie married George Roberts in 1951 and they had five children, Michael, Deborah, Donna, Dyana and Denise. In 1984 she married Jack Hays. They were happily married until his death in 2013.
Bobbie enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing dominos, bowling and playing with her grandchildren. In her later years she loved sitting on her porch watching the birds, feeding the cows and alpacas. She enjoyed listening to live music and visiting friends and family. She never met a stranger and all that met her loved to listen to her stories of the past and of her grandchildren. It was always a delight for her great grandchildren to knock on her door asking for a cookie.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Bell and Lola (Bell-Parker) Phillips, her brothers, Edward Bell, John Phillips, Jack Phillips, Tommy Phillips, son, Michael Roberts, daughter, Deborah Clack and granddaughter, Stephanie Clack.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Boatman and husband Doyle, Dyana Saylors and husband Wesley, Denise Welch and husband, Tommy, grandchildren, Jerry Clack, Kema Hinson, Keri Townsend, Tommy Welch, Brandon Welch, Chelsea Menapace, Stephen Welch, Caitlin Lore, and 23 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060 at 2:00 pm, with a visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
