MANSFIELD -- Bobbie Joe Parsons Sr. passed away on Tuesday April 14, 2015 in Mansfield, Texas.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Mansfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Emerald Hills Funeral Home on Thursday.
Bobbie Joe was born in Vernon, Texas on November 11, 1936, but raised in Mansfield, Texas. Bobbie Joe was married to his loving wife Rose for 57 years; together they had 4 beautiful children. He proudly served in the United States Navy. When his boys were young, Bobbie Joe coached their football and baseball teams. He himself played semi pro football for years.Bobbie Joe was a devout Christian and laid the foundation for his kids to be loving Christ followers by teaching them God's word. He and his wife were long time members of Central Baptist Church.
Bobbie Joe is preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Nell Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Deborah Parsons, Nell Upton, Bobbie Parsons Jr. and John Parsons; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
