BENBROOK -- Bobby Gene Seargeant went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
He was born in Kaufman County and graduated from Rio Vista High School. He entered the U.S. Navy, where he served his country during the Korean War. After his time in the Navy, he became a U.S. post office mail carrier for the city of Fort Worth. He loved his mail route and the people on it became personal friends. He was at his best when he saw new life through his grandchildren's eyes.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Dean Seargeant.
Survivors: Wife, Betty Kunkel Seargeant; children, Jeff and Kathleen Seargeant, Darla and Monty Gossett and Kim and Chris Van Meter; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lessie Williamson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends
