Brenda “Kaye” Nimitz , 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born on October 22, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas to John “Frank” and Anna (Boling) Wright.

Kaye grew up in Carlsbad, NM. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1965. After high school she attended college at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Throughout her life she used her love for people, accounting skills, and her drive to be the best reflection of Christ to successfully work for, and impact a number of organizations including Home Interiors for a number of years, followed by her time as a Children’s Minister at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, and most recently as the founder of Texas Sand & Gravel.

Kaye married Charles Nimitz in 1967 in Carlsbad, NM. They were happily married for 54 years. She enjoyed studying the Bible, playing piano, and being with her grandkids.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ann Wright, and her son Brent Nimitz.

Kaye is survived by her spouse Charles Nimitz of Mansfield, Texas; her son Corey Nimitz, and her daughter Cherish Fuller and husband Danny, and their grandchildren Madison (husband Caleb), Gavin, JamieAnn, and Tristan. Her brother Tommy and wife Cindy, and her sister Faye and husband Pat, and also a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service for Kaye will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home (500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060) on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00AM. The family will receive friends for visitation at Emerald Hills Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Flowers can be sent, but in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to missions at TCAL Church https://tcalchurch.com/give/

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Universal Hospice and all of their family, friends and church family.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NIV)
