Burney Fay Byrd, 80, passed away on July 20, 2022 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas.  Burney was born on November 24, 1941 in Muldoon, Texas to Melvin and Dorothy (King) Byrd.

Burney grew up in Brownwood, Texas and married Shirley Griffis in October 1960 and they were married for 60 years.

Burney loved to hunt and fish with his brother’s in laws.

Burney was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin & Dorothy Byrd; brother, Melvin Byrd and wife Shirley Byrd.

Burney is survived by his children, son Burney Ray and wife Karan Byrd of Waxahachie, Texas and daughter Tammy and husband, Terry Brown of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren, Tristan and wife Jennifer Byrd, Josh and wife Christa Byrd of Midlothian, Texas, Kayla and husband Tommy Baker of Graford, Texas and Shauni and husband Brandon Lovell of Carthage, Texas, great grandchildren, Trista Byrd of Waxahachie, Texas, Tori Ball, Addison and Tommy Baker of Graford, Texas, Lee, Ethan, ShyAnne, Sierra and Selina Lovell of Carthage, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 10AM at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
