BOYD -- Charles Weldon Ussery, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Service: Funeral and interment start at 2 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.
Weldon was born July 2, 1923, in Justin. He was a longtime member and deacon at Tate Springs Baptist Church. He loved to work with his hands and raise dairy cows. His personality was Christlike, slow to anger, kind and trustworthy by nature. He was truly at his best when he saw life anew through his grandchildren's eyes.
Survivors: His loving wife of 64 years, nine months and 19 days, Mary Ussery; children, Barbara Gray (Woody), Dale Ussery (Mardie) and David Ussery; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Margaret Louise Bratcher; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
