FORT WORTH -- Carlos R. Quijas, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, Oct. 5, 2007.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1927, in LaFe. He loved his family but was truly at his best when he saw new life through his grandchildren's eyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Maria de la Luz Quijas.
Survivors: His wife of 59 years, Aurora Quijas; children, Omar Quijas, Irene Torres, Delia Alvarez, Carlos Quijas, Martin Quijas and Maria Arrubla; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Martin Quijas and Luis Almendarez; and a host of other family and friends.
