Cathy S. Kennedy

March 6, 1952 — October 1, 2024

Arlington, Texas

Cathy S. Kennedy, a beacon of love and compassion, was received into the arms of her Creator on October 1, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on March 6, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Cathy lived a life that was filled with grace, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her journeys through life would not only be marked by her achievements but also by the countless relationships she fostered and cherished.

After graduating from Arlington High School, Cathy pursued further education at Tarrant County Junior College, where she earned an associate's degree in Computer Science. This paved the way for a remarkable 34-year career at Geissner Insurance in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her colleagues admired her work ethic, and her clients trusted her deeply, a testament to her caring and down-to-earth personality.

Cathy’s love for traveling was only matched by her passion for spending time with her family. Christmas, in particular, was a time when she created lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. Those holidays were a highlight for Cathy, as she effortlessly created an atmosphere of love that enveloped her family, leaving an indelible mark on each one of their hearts.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 54 years, Paul Kennedy, with whom she shared a profound connection that enriched their lives. Her daughter, Sue Ellen Kennedy, carries on Cathy's legacy of kindness and nurturing spirit. Her Grandson, Jameson Kennedy was the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Cindy Brinkley and Matt Brinkley, who, along with her cherished family, will hold Cathy's memory close.

Cathy's love extended to her nieces: Caitlyn Brinkley, Fionna O'Donoghue, Skylar Hudgins, Elyssa Oaks, Ezra Brinkley, Angela Puckett, Jessica Jatzek, Alex Brinkley, and her nephews: Richard Hudgins, Devon Brinkley, and Ian Brinkley. Many others who called her "Aunt Cathy" also felt her genuine affection and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Brinkley, her father, Dean Brinkley, and her brother, David Brinkley. Though they have departed this earthly realm, their love and the memories they forged together with Cathy continue to shine brightly in her family's hearts.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cathy's remarkable life during the visitation on October 11, 2024, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kennedale, Texas. A funeral service will be held the following day, October 12, 2024, at 10 AM, followed by a burial service at 11 AM.

Cathy S. Kennedy's life may have concluded on this earth, but her spirit, love, and compassion will live on eternally in the hearts of everyone she touched.
