FORT WORTH -- Cecil Robert Polk, 88, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Cecil was born June 5, 1926, to Joe L. and Leta Polk in Lorena. Cecil served admirably in the Navy and was employed as an electrician for 60-plus years. He was a member of the IBEW and the Davis Boulevard Church of Christ.
Cecil was known as a "people person" and would do anything for anyone he came in contact with. He also enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Cecil was preceded in death by a son, Joe Marvin Polk; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors: His loving wife of 67 years, Annie Laura; daughter, Sharon Rhea Haworth and husband, James; sons, Cecil Robert Polk Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, Steven Max Polk and wife, Jan; sister, Barbara Graf and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Haworth, Christopher Polk, Courtney Stubblefield and Sabrina Davis; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
