Celso Jimenez

Celso Jimenez passed away on November 1, 2023, in Grand Prairie, TX.  He was born on April 6, 1938, in Gonzalez County, TX to Vidal Jimenez and Leonarda Valerio Jimenez.

Celso grew up in Nixon, Tx. 

Celso worked as a Union carpenter until his retirement.  He helped build the Water Gardens, DFW Airport, The Texas Giant, The Original Texas Rangers Ballpark, Martin High School and many other local projects.

 Celso was a member of St Jude’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to the Casino, watching the Dallas Cowboy and socializing with his friends. 

Celso was preceded in death by his parents, Vidal and Leonarda Jimenez, his siblings, Pedro Jimenez, Domingo Jimenez, Pasqual Jimenez, Jorge Jimenez, Erasmo Jimenez and Janie Ramirez (Jimenez) and Alfonso Jimenez.

Celso is survived by his former spouse Lydia of Brownsville, Tx; His son Edward Jimenez (Melissa) from Arlington, Tx and Celso Jr Jimenez (Connie) from Mansfield, Tx.  Surviving Siblings: Antonio Jimenez, Vidal Jimenez Jr, Lydia Martinez (Jimenez) and Jessie Jimenez, Selia Esther Juarez (Jimenez). His grandchildren: Celina Jimenez, Dakota Jimenez, Diego Jimenez, Hope Jimenez, Celso Andre Jimenez and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Tx at 10 am on Friday November 10, 2023. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home from 4-7 pm on Thursday November 9. 2023.  A burial will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
