ARLINGTON -- Charles B. Vermillion, 89, of Arlington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Charles was born May 4, 1925, to Henry and Mamie Vermillion in Altoga. He served his country proudly in the Marine Corps during World War II and retired from LTV after 25-plus years of faithful service. The family would like to thank Arlington Fire and Rescue for all their help and compassion as well as the staff of Community Hospice at Arlington Memorial Hospital for their compassionate and tender loving care.
Pallbearers will be Scott Wilson, Johnny Jetton, Loren Knapp, Richard Miller, Ian Miller and Collin Miller.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of close to 68 years, Faye; and granddaughter, Vanessa Vermillion.
Survivors: He is survived by his son, Bob Vermillion of Lancaster; daughters, Suzie Knapp and husband, Loren, of Columbia, S.C., and Denise Vermillion of Arlington; grandchildren, Laurie Miller and husband, Richard, Zann Knapp, Corinne Vermillion; great-grandchildren, Tess, Ian, Collin, Kaili, Michael and Cathrine; and daddy's special buddy, Toby.
Daddy will be dearly missed and will be reunited with his loving wife who he has missed everday since her passing four years ago.
