Cindy Boggess

April 6, 1962 — July 26, 2018

Cindy Marie Boggess (Pruitt), beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, 56, of Kennedale, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, following a courageous 18-month battle with AML.

Cindy was born April 6, 1962 in Roanoke, Virginia to Mary Pruitt and James (Jim) Pruitt.  As a child, Cindy moved to Arlington, Texas where she lived for many years.  Cindy was a bit of an adventurer, also living in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as Carolina Beach, North Carolina and Tulsa, Oklahoma, before returning to Texas and settling in Kennedale.

Cindy worked in the professional welding, medical gases and industrial supply field for many years.  She went on to obtain her real estate license and enjoyed a very successful career as a realtor in Las Vegas and North Carolina Beach, before returning to the welding and medical gas industry in late 2012.

Cindy’s happy place was the beach, most especially when spending time there with her beloved family.  The waves crashing on the sand was pure music to Cindy’s ears, and there was nowhere she would rather be.   She also developed a love for wine, and enjoyed nothing more than a bottle of Prosecco, shared with family and friends.

Cindy will be remembered for her kind and gentle smile, soul, and spirit, for her determination to always see the good, and for the unconditional love she so freely gave to her family and friends.  We find comfort in knowing she is with our Lord in Heaven, leukemia-free, relaxing on a beach and enjoying the sound of the waves.

SURVIVORS:  Cindy is survived by her mother, Mary Frances Pruitt of Kennedale and her father, James Lee Pruitt and wife Suzy of Bogata.  She also leaves behind her beloved daughter, Nicole Cook and husband Shane, and her two cherished grandsons, Keegan and Konnor, as well as her four-legged fur daughter, Sophie.   She is also survived by her sisters, Tammy Pruitt-Wheeler and husband Pete, and Kimberly Pruitt Murphy; her brother, Shane Pruitt and wife Dana; as well as her nieces, Paige Murphy and Rachel Pruitt, and nephews Mason Murphy and Lucas Pruitt, and Cindy’s special four-legged fur nephew, Scoot Wheeler.  She will be greatly missed by her best friend and sister of the heart, Debbie Knight Wright, and Cindy’s long time special friend, Ray Chapa, many other extended family members and friends, all of whom loved her dearly.

SERVICES:  Visitation will be Monday evening, July 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, July 31, at 1:00 p.m.  Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060.

The family would like to thank, with full and grateful hearts, Dr. Scott Fleischauer and the wonderful and amazing nurses and techs of Unit 43-Oncology at Arlington Memorial Hospital.
