ARLINGTON -- Claudia Ann Mestan, 73, of Arlington, Texas, died April 18, 2012, with her family by her side in Fort Worth, Texas. She ran her race and claimed her prize promised by our Victorious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A church viewing at Bridgewood Church of Christ is scheduled for Monday, April 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24th, at Bridgewood Church of Christ, 6516 Brentwood Stair Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76112. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, in Kennedale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ's Haven Children's Home in Keller, TX.
She was born October 23, 1938 to Gaston and Myrtle Ann Jones and grew up in Atoka, Oklahoma. Following high school, Claudia attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and graduated in 1960 with a teaching degree. She moved to Orange County, California with a girlfriend and taught elementary school for four years. She later met and married Vic Mestan in 1965. The newlyweds established a home in Wichita, Kansas where she taught elementary school and started a family. They later moved to Texas where she lived for 42 years raising two sons and worked for the Arlington Independent School District.
She was an active member of the Fort Worth Bridgewood Church of Christ. Her interests included supporting her family and traveling with them throughout North America and Europe.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Vic Mestan; brothers Luther, Fred, and Lewis Gene Jones; two sons and their spouses, Mike and Patti Mestan, Scott and Jennifer Mestan; and four grandchildren.
