David was born in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 15, 1952. He spent much of his youth in England and Colorado before settling down in Texas, where he met his wife of 30 years, Cindy. He loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and managed to put over 1,000 miles on his newest bike before becoming unable to ride. David spent two years in the Army, over 15 years running cranes and heavy equipment, and 20 years in the post office. He loved to read, debate politics with anyone who would listen, and spend time in the outdoors.
David fought courageously against brain cancer for a year and a half, hanging on to walk Sarah down the aisle at her wedding on May 23 of this year.
Survivors: Loving wife of 30 years, Cindy Baird; daughters, Sarah Shull and husband, C.J., and Stephanie Baird; brother, Jim Baird and wife, Janet; two nieces; and a host of cousins and other extended family.
