ARLINGTON -- David John Van Meter, 40, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.
Memorial service: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Arlington.
David was born April 5, 1967, to Richard Van Meter and Toni Larsen in El Paso. He graduated from James Martin High School and attended UTA, earning a bachelor's degree. He worked as an associate editor for the TCU Alumni Magazine for 10 years then went into the pharmaceutical sales industry.
He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 15 years and was actively involved in the children's ministry there. He recently started attending The Church on Rush Creek.
A gifted writer and avid runner, David was a loving companion, father, brother and son. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Larsen.
Survivors: Fiancee, Melanie Powell; son, Sam, twins, Gabe and Jaclyn and their mother, Laura Van Meter; father, Richard Van Meter and his wife, Judy; mother, Toni Larsen; uncle, Larry Bretton; brothers, Rick Van Meter and his wife, Lisa, Chris Van Meter and his wife, Kim and Todd Gatewood and his wife, Christina; sisters, Lorie Carter and her husband, Kenneth, and Lisa Crowe, Christine Bridges and Jennifer Diaz and her husband, Santos; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of other family members and friends.
