GRAND PRAIRIE -- Derrick Daulton Thorp, 33, left his worldly home to take his place in heaven, Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2007.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Derrick was born Nov. 21, 1973, in Grand Prairie. He was a graduate of Springtown High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the Dallas Cowboys. Derrick was an electrician by trade.

Survivors: Parents, Daulton and Sherry Thorp of Grand Prairie; wife, Whitney Thorp; son, Jake Thorp; sisters, Georgana Davis of Irving and Lori Padilla of Grand Prairie; nieces, Rebecca, Amanda, Alexis; nephew, David Daulton Padilla; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his beloved dog, Brazos.
