Dolores Rooney, 81, passed away on the morning of July 15, 2024, at Magnolia Place in Jefferson Texas. She was born May 31, 1943, in Marshall Texas to Lonnie Sr. and Norma Jean Sutton, Kale. She had 7 brothers Lonnie Kale Jr, Charles Kale, James Kale, Floyd Kale, Lloyd Kale, Ricky Kale, Michael Suddereth and 2 Sisters Linda Livingston and Mary Appling.

Dolores grew up in Hallsville and Longview Texas. She attended Pine Tree High School before she dropped out to assist her mom with working and taking care of her brothers and sisters. Her little brothers have always viewed her as their second mom.

Dolores married Gerald Don Hooper of Longview Tx in 1959 in the state of Pennsylvania where he was stationed at a local Air Force Base. Dolores and Gerald Don had three children together and were married for 21 years. Dolores later married Daniel J Rooney of Lake Dallas Tx and were married 22 years until he passed away. Dolores was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Kennedale Tx up until the time she went to live at the nursing home in Jefferson, Tx. She loved her church family, singing church hymns and learning about the word of God. She loved musicals at Casa Manana and reading romance novels.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Sr and Norma Jean Sutton, Kale, Brothers Floyd Wayne Kale and James Edward Kale, Sister Linda Gail Livingston, and both her husband’s Gerald Don Hooper and Daniel J Rooney.

Dolores is survived by her loving son John Jefferson Hooper and his wife Maribel of Corinth, Tx. Her Devoted Son Randall Lee Hooper of Arlington, Tx. And her loving Daughter Vaneica Mora and her husband Frank Mora III of Arlington, Tx. Dolores had 11 Grandchildren Justin Hooper of Little Rock, Ark, Daniel Hooper, and his wife Brandy of Temple Tx., Anthony Mora, and his wife Patricia of Arlington Tx, Andrew Mora, and his wife Kathleen of Arlington, Tx., Jacob Hooper, and his wife Amanda of San Antonio, Tx., Adrian Mora, and his wife Sarah of Arlington, Tx., Sarah Wurtz and her husband Ben of Clarksville, Tn., Jenny Kulhanek of Crowley Tx, Raechal Hooper of Cleburne, Tx. and Isabella Hooper of Corinth, Tx. Dolores assisted in raising one of her Grandson and viewed him as her Son William Forrest Hooper of Fort Worth, Tx. Dolores was also blessed with 15 Great Grandchildren Jayden and Eliana Hooper, Claire, Chase, and Chloe Hooper, Kami-Rae, Charlotte, Phillip, Andrew, Blake, Benjamin, and Micah Mora, Iris Martinez, Arya Kulhanek, and Mason Wurtz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Magnolia Place Nursing and Rehab in Jefferson, Tx, and Heart to Heart Hospice Care of Longview Tx. for taking such great care of our mother. “And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7
