Donald Ray Hellman, 82, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, in Arlington.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Community Church, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, the Rev. Tom Craig officiating. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.
Don was born June 8, 1928, in Wichita Falls, where he was raised by his parents, Ed and Katherine Hellman. He graduated from Midwestern University in 1949 and married Ann Fairtrace in 1950. After many years in the car business in Wichita Falls and Burkburnett, he retired to Arlington in 1995. He was active in his church and was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus most recently in Council 13470.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; brother, Leroy; and sister, Joyce.
Survivors: Son, Mike and wife, Rita; daughters, Lynn Williams and husband, Bill, and Celia Douglas and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Heather and husband, Karl, Reid, Mark, Bobby, Julie, Brent, Kyle, Ann-Marie and Gerard; brothers, Bob, Wayne and Larry; sister, Linda; and great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily.
