Donald Shannon

Donald Wayne Shannon, 65, beloved husband, father, grandfather and devoted friend departed for his heavenly home during the morning hours of January 16, 2022, at his home in Seven Points, Texas.  He was born on May 15, 1956 in Arlington, Texas to Lloyd and Myrtle Hooks Shannon.

Donnie grew up in Arlington, Texas. Moved around the state of Texas for work.  Donnie met the love of his life Delories Umlang Shannon in 1984 in La Grange Texas. They were married on November 21,1998 and lived together in Arlington, Texas until her passing on April 20, 2018.

Donnie was preceded in death by his Parents, Lloyd and Myrtle Shannon, Wife, Delories Umlang Shannon, Brother, Bob Shannon and Grand Daughter, Jessica Plagens.

Donnie is survived by his Children, Angela Shannon and husband Tony of Houston, Texas, Michelle Shannon and husband Kelly of Corsicana, Texas, Christopher Shannon of Tyler, Texas, Sandra Plagens of Spring, Texas, Linda Greszler and husband Dave of Mansfield, Texas, Kenneth Umlang of Mesa, Arizona, Brenda Murphy and husband Brian of Mabank Texas, David Umlang and wife Karen of San Antonio; his Brother, Ronnie Shannon and wife Mary of Gun Barrel City, Texas; Sister, Diana Shannon of Arlington, Texas;  and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Texas 76060 Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Texas 76060 Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery.
