Dorothy was born on October 14, 1928 in Waxahachie, TX to Johnny and Roxie Mae Coley.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart of 43 years, Douglas R. Cowart.
Survivors: son, Michael Douglas Cowart; daughter, Denise Ryan and husband Bill; grandchildren, Christina Townson, Kelly Ryan, Will Ryan; sisters, Allyne Loftin, Wanda Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews.
