Mrs. `Dorothy Fields

WHITNEY -- Dorothy Rachael Fields, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2012. Visitation: Sunday 3:00-5:00p.m. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on May 7, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Kennedale. Her beloved Pastor Brian Eason and great grandson Cannon Earp will officiate. Burial in Emerald Hills cemetery will follow.Mrs. Fields went to be with her Lord on May Third in Whitney where she lived her last eight years with her only child, daughter Ann Mathias and her husband Mike. She was born on November 17, 1918 in Montague, Tx to Carroll and Kathleen Loyd. She married Harold (Bud) Fields in 1935 in Wichita Falls. After marriage, Dorothy and Bud lived and worked in Pueblo, CO for a few years. They then moved back to Kennedale and worked several years for Consolidated Aircraft. Dorothy next worked for Tandy Corporation in Ft Worth until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennedale over 65 years. She loved the Church and it's activities-especially those involving her Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Melvin Loyd, and her sister Susie Loyd Taylor. She was the "baby" of her parent family.
Survivors include her daughter Ann and husband Mike of Whitney, her two grandchildren Craig Earp and wife Kristi of Waco and Kim Earp Mayse and husband Robbie of Grandview. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren; Cannon Earp and wife Samantha, KrisAnn Earp, Kendall Earp, Carson Earp, Cooper Earp, Rachael Mayse Cummings and husband Brandon, Rustin Mayse and fiance Ashli Edwards, Misty Mayse, and Melody Mayse. She was also privileged and happy to get to know her 2 year old great great granddaughter Brooklynn Kate Cummings; nephew, Jerry Loyd. She cherished all of her extended family. They were the light of her life! She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. In Lieu of flowers, contributions to the multipurpose building fund of the First Baptist Church of Kennedale would be appreciated.
