Doyle T. "D.T." Kolmetz, 82, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010. The race is run, the battle is won, and the warrior went home to glory.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
D.T. was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Washington County, Fla. He had a quick wit and great sense of humor, neither of which he ever used at others' expense, only to enliven the conversation and endear himself to everyone around him. He served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church Rendon and Everman Masonic Lodge #510. He loved to drive for Red Ball Trucking and Enterprise Car Rental Co. He achieved success here because he lived well, laughed often and loved much.
Survivors: His wife of 48 years, Naomi D. Kolmetz of Fort Worth; children, Jim Roberts and wife, Donna, of Carrollton, Johnny Roberts of Fort Worth, and Wanda Durocher of Kissimmee, Fla., eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, the Rev. T.V. Kolmetz of Crestview, Fla.; sister, Bertha Padgett of Vernon, Fla.; nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
