Dwain Douglas Hobbs went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.
Service: His homegoing service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Kiestwood Assembly of God, 2716 W. Kiest Blvd., Dallas. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dwain was born March 22, 1935, in Valley View to the late Weldon and Leta Hobbs. After graduating from Valley View High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps as a tank commander in Korea. He then attended Decatur Baptist College, where he met Danene Fenoglio who became his loving wife of 53 years. Together they raised two great children.
Dwain, a very caring and dedicated father, was called to the ministry in 1971 as an ordained minister. He then began traveling across the world, spreading the living word of God. In 1980, he established God's World Church in Dallas. There he served as pastor and gave hope to countless individuals. He later established Youth World Dallas Learning Center for at-risk youth.
While passionately serving the Lord, Dwain enjoyed an exciting life of breaking horses and roping calves. He could often be seen cruising on his Harley or strumming his guitars. However, Dwain's greatest passion was for his family.
