ARLINGTON -- Edward "Eddie" C. Francis Sr., a native of New Orleans, La., at the tender age of 80 years answered heaven's roll call on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel, officiated by Claude Bradshaw of Friendship West Baptist Church. Intermenet: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Relatives and friends of the family, Friendship West Baptist Church, Concord Baptist Church, Dallas, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Prairie, Reagan Middle, Grand Prairie ISD, and Albert S. Johnston Elementary, Dallas ISD, are invited to attend the funeral service and burial at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward E. and Ruth Francis; sisters, Leona Daniels, Christina Dominique, Shirley Campbell, Isabella Jenkins, Ruth George and Margaret Preston; and grandchildren, Gilbert Riggleton Jr. and Lillian Fluker.
Survivors: Eddie leaves to cherish special memories his loving wife, Lois D. Francis; siblings, Donald Francis Sr. (Ernestine) and Gloria Badon; children, Lois Francis, Dolores Butler (widow of James Butler), Edwina James (Melvin), Patricia Lee (Wayne), Leona Francis, Charlene Fluker (Robert), Edward C. Francis Jr., Rosalind Armour and Rodney Francis (Tiffany); 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
