Edward Gonzales, 57, passed away on September 23, 2021 at Mansfield Methodist Hospital, in Mansfield, TX. He was born on April 2, 1964 in Waco, TX to Paul and Virginia (Morin) Gonzales.

Edward grew up in Kennedale, TX. He graduated from Kennedale High School in 1982. After high school he:

Worked alongside his dad as an autobody technician where he worked for 39 years.
was involved in the Youth Ministry in the Catholic Churches, Member of the Knights of Columbus, and Wounded Warriors Project

Edward married Rosey A. Lara in 1989 in Arlington, TX. They were happily married for 32 years. Edward was a member of Holy Name of Jesus in Ft. Worth, TX. He enjoyed Mariachi music and played in the family Mariachi group for many years. He was an avid collector of Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings memorabilia, World War II tanks, and Hot Wheels and a huge history buff. He was creative and enjoyed art in many forms. He was often crafting and creating for Rosey and others. He also received metals for a World War II tank competition in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Eddie was and forever will be remembered as a kind, loving, empathetic, free-spirited, creative, hard-working, jokester, respectful, selfless, and giving person. He loved his BooBoo, Rosey. He would do anything for her and was always by her side. He spoiled his many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. He had a very healthy appetite and enjoyed dining at different restaurants. If he wasn’t at work, helping at Church, or eating out, he was being creative and making something new. Eddie had a profound impact on so many through his love, work, and faith.

Edward was preceded in death by his Grandparents Apolonio and Maria Gonzales, and Crescencio and Anita Morin; Aunt Josie Lopez, and Uncle Sam Lopez. Brother-in-laws, Jose Luis Lara, David Lara, Rojelio Lara Sr., and Guadalupe Cruz.

Edward is survived by his spouse, Rosey of Kennedale, TX; his parents, Paul and Virginia Gonzales; his brothers, Richard (Elizabeth) Gonzales of Mansfield, TX, Carlos (Sarah) Gonzales of Joshua, TX,  Eliseo (Josephine) Sanchez of Watauga, TX; his in-laws, Paulita and Timoteo Lara; his sister-in-law, Jane Cruz; his brother-in-law, Steve Lara; his sister-in-laws, Olga Lara and Laura Strause; his nieces & nephews, Eric, Natalia, Monica, Victoria, Chrissy, Alexander, Ricky, Shawn, Leticia, Anna, Vincent, Alexandria, Rojelio Jr., Amy, Luis, and Abbie; his 16 great nieces and nephews; and his 67 God children.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd at 11am. A visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2021  at Emerald Hills Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Burial will follow funeral service at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Rosa A (Rosey) Lara at EECU.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to family and friends for their continued support; Pallbearers, Richard Gonzales, Carlos Gonzales, Eliseo Sanchez, Santiago Rosales, Angel Castrellon, Rojelio Lara Jr., Adrian Rodriguez, and Antonio Hernandez.
