Mrs. Elaine Nieman

September 6, 1929 — January 13, 2015

Elaine Nieman, of Mansfield, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. She was born September 6, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Bert Toerner and Helen Mae Toerner.
Elaine graduated from Withrow High School in Cincinnati, with the class of 1946. On August 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to William L. Nieman in Cincinnati. They were married for 57 years. In 1964 they moved to Texas and lived in several different cities.  Elaine was a gifted designer and enjoyed sewing, making pottery and working in the garden. She was a dedicated Mom, and later in life enjoyed spending time with family and friends and reading.
She is survived by her eight of her nine children: Robert Nieman (Virma) of Monroe, LA, Ronald Nieman (Debbie) of McKinney, TX, Nancy Nieman-Garner (Carl)of Knoxville, TN, William L. Nieman II (Angie) of Arlington, TX, Jill Nieman-Gleghorn (Tommy) of Grand Prairie, TX, Michael Nieman (Brenda) of Spring Hill, TN, James Nieman (Gabby) of Mansfield, TX and Christopher Nieman (Cindy) of Arlington, TX.  She has 26 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband William L. Nieman, and a daughter, Janice Nieman- Darnell, preceded her in death.
Elaine Nieman was a dedicated Christian who lived up to the Scripture from John 3:30 that reads, “He must become greater and I must become less.” She invested her life into serving her Lord Jesus, her husband and her 9 children. Jesus told his disciples that the key to greatness is to find a way to serve many (Mark 10:44-45). She practiced that.  Her only agenda in life was to please God and make sure that her family was taken care of. She had the heart of a servant and she dedicated each day to serving others.  Words can’t explain how dearly she will be missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will be in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.
