Enrique Salvador Barraza, 60, passed away on July 07, 2024, at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born on July 15, 1963, in Cid. Juarez, Mexico to Candido and Catalina (Medrano) Barraza.
Enrique (Rick) grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Riverside High School in El Paso, Texas in 1983. After high school Enrique worked at Central Freight Lines for 25 years, Oak Creek Villages, Home Depot, Home Depot Landscape, and Universal Logistics as a training supervisor. He was a Sunday School Teacher for 10 years and a Youth Group Advisor.
Enrique (Rick) married Maria (Liz) in 1984 in El Paso, Texas. They were happily married for 40 years. Enrique (Rick) was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Washington Redskins, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Notre Dame Football. He also received the U.S. Department of Transportation: Transportation Safety Institute Certificate.
Enrique was preceded in death by his father-in-law Roberto and mother-in-law Albina Carrillo, brother-in-law Fernando Solis, Uncle Osvaldo Barraza, and Cousin Armando Barraza.
Enrique is survived by his spouse Maria (Liz) of Arlington, Texas; his daughters Amber Barraza, Debbie (Steven) McCurdy, Catalina (Marcus) Ybarra of Arlington, Texas, and Melissa (Charles) Droddy of Haughton, Louisiana; his brothers Raul Barraza of Arlington, Texas and Gustavo Barraza of Sacramento, California. His grandchildren Alexander and Danielle Droddy, Ayden and Brianna Ybarra, and Winter Marie McCurdy; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, Texas 76017 on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 6:00-9:00PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:00PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Mario Curiel, Steve and Lena Shelton, his physical therapist HK, Kirsten, and Tara, and the ICU nursing staff at UT Southwestern.
