Fred Austin Pulliam Jr., 79, passed away on Wednesday the 1st, May 2024 at his home in Cleburne, TX. He was born on September 12, 1944, in Summerville, TX to Fred Pulliam and Mitty Slate.
Fred grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He graduated from Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth, TX. After high school he joined the Army in 1969 and served for 8 years. He served in Vietnam War. He was discharged in 1977, achieving the rank of private E-1.
Fred had several jobs starting with the city of Fort Worth, but eventually ended his career as a thriving mechanic. He retired in 2017.
Fred married Cynthia in 1983 in Cleburne, TX. They were happily married for 41 years. Fred enjoyed wood working, tinkering with cars, his love of BBQ, and most of all, teaching others.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred Austin; mother, Mitty Slate; brothers, Glenn, Tommy, and Billy; and sister, Brenda.
Fred is survived by his spouse, Cynthia of Cleburne, TX; his sons/daughters Allen Pulliam, Vickie Keating (husband Mike Keating), William Pulliam, and Pacer Bryant (wife Natasha Bryant); his sisters Paula (husband Joe Menéndez), Elaine, Renee, and Marie; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Emerald Hill Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060 at noon, 05/09/2024. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hill Funeral Home 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, 05/08/2024. The Burial will follow at Caddo Cemetery, 6700 FM 1902, Joshua, TX 76058.
