Fredie Henderson Mitchell Jr.

Fredie Henderson Mitchell Jr., 80, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Irving TX. He was born on February 19, 1944, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Fredie Henderson Mitchell Sr. and Zola Mae Harper Mitchell.

Fredie grew up in many different towns as his family traveled to wherever the work was, but finally settled in Fort Worth , Texas, where he graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1963.

Fredie worked in the wholesale plumbing industry for 60 years. He started at Economy Supply Company in 1964, and retired January 2024 from Winston Watercooler. Fredie was loved and respected by many many people in the industry.

 Fredie married Linda Sue Cornell on September 4, 1964 in Fort Worth, TX. They were happily married for 59 years. Fredie enjoyed many sports, but baseball was by far his favorite. He played, coached, umpired, and watched the sport, as often as he could. His greatest joy was of course his beautiful family.

 Fredie was preceded in death by his parents Fredie Henderson Mitchell Sr. and Zola Mae Mitchell; his 2 older sisters, Doris Jean Hughitt, and Katy Fern Schoonover; his wife Linda Sue Mitchell; and his son Andrew Henderson Mitchell. 

Fredie is survived by his daughter, Angela Marie Mitchell Rodgers, and spouse James of Irving, TX; his brothers, Robert Eldon Mitchell of Fort Worth, TX, and Jimmy Carol Mitchell, and wife Patty of Springfield, Missouri; his grandson, Benjamin Andrew Mitchell, and fiancée Anne Wesley of Oakley, Michigan; granddaughters, Katherine Nell Mitchell Shirley, and spouse Trenten of Hico, TX, and Elizabeth Anne Mitchell of Weatherford, TX; his great-grandchildren, Madison Denise Mitchell and Harper Lee Mitchell of Oakley, Michigan, several nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends.
