Garry Lynn Kendrick, 73, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at home after a long battle with interstitial lung disease.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Peggy Sue Kendrick; his sisters, Joyce Jenkins and Elizabeth Pattrom, his son, Michael Shane Kendrick, his daughters, LaJuana Sue Wydick and Della Marie Harrell. He is also survived by his grandchildren, TJ Wydick, Wesley Garrity, Eric Garrity, Jamison Lowe, Alyssa Lowe, Draven Kendrick, Alieah Kendrick and Michael Kendrick; his great grandchildren, Jayden Wydick, Cash Wydick, Eleisha Garrity and Esmiel Garrity; many nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Garry was born in Burkburnett, Texas. He was raised in New Mexico by his parents, Homer and Essie Kendrick. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Jerry and his brother Dickey.
Garry loved gospel and bluegrass music. He played the mandolin, autoharp, guitar, harmonica, piano and accordion. He and Peggy often performed at nursing homes, senior centers and churches.
Garry also loved fishing and camping. He loved fishing so much that he made unique fishing jigs using padlocks, nuts and bolts for the weights. Garry was a gifted carpenter, painter, and wood worker.
He loved his little doggies and they loved him. They knew that when their daddy had food, they would get lots of nibbles.
Garry loved his family and friends but mostly he loved his Lord and Savior.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., November 20, 2015, at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. The burial will be on Monday, November 23, 2015, at Skyvue Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m.
