Gary Lynn Stephens

Gary Lynn Stephens, passed away on the 17th day of July at his home in Kennedale, Texas. He was born on October 18th, 1979 in San Antonio, Texas, to Harry and Shirley McDonald Stephens.

Gary grew up in Arlington, Texas, where he graduated from Martin High School in 1999. During his school years, Gary played a lot of sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer and tennis. His favorite was playing football for the Corey Cubs.

After high school, Gary worked as a server at several restaurants in the Tarrant County area, before finding his favorite place of employment at Mac’s Grill in Arlington. Gary loved his job at Macs and worked there for over 20 years. According to his co-workers, customers asked to sit in Gary’s section, more than any other waiter.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Stephens. 

Gary is survived by his father, Harry Lee Stephens, of Arlington, Texas; His brothers, Robert Lee Stephens of Arlington, Texas, and Richard Allen Stephens of Crowley, Texas; His nieces, Kayla, Macy, Reese and Megan; his nephews, Christopher and Dylan; and great-nephew, Liam Barnett.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas at 11am on Thursday, July 25th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10am, prior to the service.

 The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the incredible amount of family and friends who have offered condolences, shared stories and their love, for Garbear.
