Harless D. "H.D." Schoolcraft was reunited with his wife and joined Jesus Christ in heaven on Easter morning, Sunday, April 4, 2010.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Harless was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Denton. He and his wife, Hazel Lee Forester, were married over 60 years and were blessed with three children, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Together they lived in Denton and Grand Prairie. Harless and Hazel were among the five founding families who began University Baptist Church in Denton, where he served as a deacon. Before retiring in 1983, he had worked for LTV for 35 years. He was a Mason for over 50 years and enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending all the time he could outdoors. His family and friends will remember him as a strong, hard-working man who took great pride in providing for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Jewel Nimmo Schoolcraft and Frank Schoolcraft; sister, Jewel Schoolcraft; and wife, Hazel Lee Schoolcraft.
Survivors: Daughters, Sandra Sue and husband, Joe Davis, of Portland and Sharon Kay Tyson of Portland; son, Rick D. Schoolcraft of Arlington; granddaughters, Jeanne Lynn and husband, John Glenn King, of Liverpool, Julie Christine and husband, Jay Andrew Windsor, of Grand Prairie, Rachel Rene and husband, Emilio Martinez III, of Grand Prairie, Selena Lorraine and husband, Brian D. Duffer, of China Spring and Miranda Michelle and husband, Tim James Wooten, of Oneonta, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Taylor King, Brianna Nicole King, Emilio Rickey Martinez, Damian Lee Martinez, Nickolas Rogelio Martinez, Andrew Christian Windsor, Jasmine Marie Windsor, Brianna Lee Duffer, Kaylee Grace Duffer and Brinlee Rachel Duffer; and sister, Delores "Muggs" Forrester of Lake Texoma, Texas.
