Henry Dover Jr.

Henry Franklin Dover Jr, 78, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on January, 9 1943 in El Paso, Texas to Henry Franklin Dover and Grace Christine Forti

Henry grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Austin High School in El Paso. After high school he moved to Dallas to pursue a career with computer programming.

After finishing his computer programming training he started a career with Vaughn Petroleum where he met, fell in love with and ultimately married Sandra Susan Lee Gordon in 1971 in Dallas, Texas. They were happily married for almost 51 years. He enjoyed taking care of Sandy as well as seeing and playing with his grandchildren.

Some of his hobbies and passions included building and working on computers, cooking out, gardening and woodworking. The man loved building things with his hands and had an eye for good wood as he would say.

Henry was preceded in death by his mother, father and his sister Beverley and his brother Michael.

Henry is survived by his spouse Sandy of Arlington, Texas; his two sons, Greg Dover and his wife Kristi, Scott Dover and his wife Ruby; his 4 grandchildren Anthony, Christopher, Elizabeth and Gregory; 1 great grandchild Colton Bacher; his sister Althea Martin and brother Eric Dover; and the rest of his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd in Kennedale, Texas 76060 at 11:00am, Monday, December 20, 2021. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel between 4:00pm and 6:00pm Sunday, December 19, 2021.  The family will be greeting friends and relatives during this time.
