GRAND PRAIRIE -- Herbert T. "Pop" Ward, 80, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Herbert was born July 6, 1929, in Pollock, La. He married the love of his life in 1950. He served his country during the Korean War. He achieved success here because he lived well, laughed often and loved much. We'll forever miss him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sadie C. Key, and grandson, Dylan L. Chasteen.
Survivors: His loving wife of 59 years, Reba Ward; sons, Herbert R. Ward, Richard L. and Connie Ward and Randy Ward; daughters, Julie M. and Eddie Chasteen and Martha and Tommy Ishmael; son-in-law, Douglas Key; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
