Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to VFW, DAV or a charity of choice.
Ida Jean Harris was born April 2, 1926, in Antoine, Ark. She later met and married J.T. Rhodes and they enjoyed a long, loving marriage rich with many good times and memories made with children, friends and schoolmates of her children. She enjoyed coffee dates with her neighbor friends in Forest Hill for many years as well as board games, dominoes, marbles and holidays. Jean and J.T. were passionate about their church, First Church of the Nazarene, and they gave tirelessly with their presence, hard labor, tithing and donations, gifts, support and event planning and coordinating. They loved their church and fellow members.
Jean was a resident of Burleson and a bingo fan, along with her many friends at Heritage Place. She enjoyed music and movies with her friends at Heritage Place. She was a long-time watcher and fan of Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed cooking and knew no greater love than taking care of her family. Feeding loved ones was her passion. If you were eating, she thought you were happy. Nothing in this world meant more to "Mamaw" than her family. She was greatly loved and will be so terribly missed.
Ida Jean was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Rhodes; parents, W. Claude and Lillian Harris; her two sisters, Catherine and Betty; and many beloved friends from her Forest Hill neighborhood and fellow church members from First Church of Nazarene.
