Irma Lee West, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2024. Irma was born in Gouldbusk, TX on October 03, 1939. She grew up with her three sisters on the Colorado River. Irma Lee Livingston then married the love of her life, Martin Duane West in 1958. Together they shared many cherished memories with family and friends, lots of laughs, games around the table, home cooked meals, and good ole buttermilk pie. With their 54 years of marriage, they were blessed with three wonderful children. Irma was the most nurturing wife and mother you could ever have had the pleasure of knowing. She later became a proud grandmother and an even more smitten great-grandmother. Irma enjoyed spending her time with family the most. In her spare time you could find her sewing, scrapbooking, baking, jarring and camping. Irma was a rare pearl full of wisdom and love. Her life’s mission was to keep family together. She did just so with the Livingston Family Recipe book that we all treasure and use daily. Irma was quite the cook. Every meal was left with a full tummy, a full heart and a “sure was mighty fine mamacita!” She also enjoyed a good sports game watching her kids or the Texas Rangers. Irma was a woman with a servants heart for her family, her church at Flamingo Road, and the community of Kennedale. Those whom she has joined in heaven are her parents William L. & Cecil Livingston; her husband Martin Duane West; her sisters, Charlotte Fenton & Sarah Tisdale; and a son William West.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Lee Wayne West and wife, Lori; daughter, Lisa Hackney and husband, Harold; daughter in law, Brenda West; grandchildren, Alissa McBurney and husband, Marty; Bradley Martin West; Brent West and wife, Shannon; Brooks Jones and wife, Payton; Jared Duane Hackney and wife, Krystin; Brady Jones and wife, Danyelle; Haylee West; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Blakelee, Audrey, Luke, Titan, Pheonix, and Sterling; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends & neighbors.
“Blessed be the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” -2 Corinthians 1:3
