KENNEDALE- Jack Edward Barnes, Jr, 66, passed away on August 22, 2015 in Folsom, California. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2 pm at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel located in Kennedale. Interment will directly follow services at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
Jack was born on November 16, 1948 to Mr. Jack Edward Barnes, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Barnes in Gadsden, Alabama. He played in numerous northern California bands in his youth during the sixties and played locally in clubs in Fort Worth and Dallas. Later, he recorded as a studio drummer in the studios of Muscle Shoals, Alabama in the early eighties. He went on to a 37 year career with the U.S. Postal Service. Jack was a lifelong fan of the Beach Boys and a collector of their music and memorabilia.
Jack is survived by his wife, Carol Ingram Barnes; mother, Doris Barnes; his aunt, uncle, cousins, and brother and sister in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Edward Barnes, Sr.; brothers, Dana Reece Barnes and Larry Dean Barnes; and other cousins and in laws.
