James William Dacus was born on March 12, 1934 in Aurora, Texas to Elmer Dale Dacus and Ester (Rambo) Dacus.
James grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and went to Riverside Highschool and Tech. He worked at the Lennox Factory as a maintenance and fittings specialist for 32 years. He then went to work at Walker Mechanical doing sheet metal work until his retirement in 1996.
James married Bettie Johnson in 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were happily married for 67 years. James was a member of Cana Baptist church. He enjoyed, in his retirement years, fixing up bicycles to donate to those in need. He loved to piddle with anything that he could get his hands on.
James was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, brother (Vernon Lee) and sister (Dorothy)
James is survived by his spouse Bettie of Tanglewood, Texas; his sons Randy (Mary) Dacus of Burleson Texas; Ronald (Mary) Dacus of Granbury Texas and Phillip (Rebecca) Dacus of Meridian, Idaho; his sisters Edna Earl Wilson of Richland Hills, Texas and Ruth Helen Wilson of Sacramento California; his grandchildren April, Christopher, Cody, Elyssa; his great-grandchildren Roxy, Riley, Anna Belle & CJ.
A memorial service will be held at Cana Baptist Church at 2:00pm on March 29th
