Mr James Gregory

August 12, 1933 — May 29, 2008

KENNEDALE -- James "Jim" Gregory, 74, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2008.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
He was born to John and Esther Gregory on Aug. 12, 1933, in Handley. He went on to marry Wanda Gray in Dec. 31, 1952. Their faithful, loving marriage produced two loving sons, Doug and Don. He served two years in the artillery division of the U.S. Army, stationed in Chicago, Ill.
He was a lifelong Christian and active member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a regular participant in the senior Bible class at First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. His hobbies included playing bass fiddle in the No Turning Back band, attending and playing gospel music festivals, acting as an adult sponsor for church youth activies, fishing and spending time with his wife and family.
As family and friends, we will miss his love, devotion, friendship and sense of humor. We take comfort in his strong faith and devotion to God during his life on earth and can only imagine his joy and wonder at entering the gates of heaven and we know that we will see him again. May he rest in peace.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth "Pete" Roberson.
Survivors: Wife, Wanda Gregory; sons, Doug and wife, Maria Gregory, of Granbury and Don Gregory and Susan of Burleson; grandchildren, Leigh Diamond and husband, Patrick, Jenni Gregory, Mandy Gregory and Ty Gregory; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Drake and Giada; sisters, Carol Golden of Hurst and Mary Brown of Fort Worth; and a host of other family and friends.
