James Michael Kepper

James Michael Kepper, born on August 11, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2024, in Granbury, Texas. He lived a life filled with dedication, service, and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A proud student of Burleson High School in Burleson, Texas, James went on to serve in the United States Navy, a journey that began in 1974 and lasted for two decades. As an Aviation Ordnance Chief, he served valiantly during significant military operations, including Desert Storm. His commendations included the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (6th award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (3rd award), and many others that attested to his commitment and skill. James retired from military service in 1994, having achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer and recognized for his distinguished service with multiple medals, including the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal (4th award).

James’s professional career was equally diverse, encompassing roles at several companies, including Steel Meal, Trophy Shop, Crown Lift Truck, and Mavrick Trucks. His work ethic and dedication to his craft were evident throughout his life.

In his personal life, James found joy and purpose in his family and community. He was married to his beloved wife, Deborah, of Granbury, Texas. He nurtured a family that includes sons James Kepper Jr. of Bardstown, Kentucky, and his wife Tanya, as well as Austin Kepper and his wife Katherine of Ridgecrest, California. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James is also survived by his sisters, Angela Kepper and Susie Kepper, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will dearly miss him.

James was an active member of Acton Baptist Church in Acton, Texas, where his faith was an essential part of his life. He pursued numerous hobbies that included camping, fishing, and shooting. His love for the outdoors brought him joy and provided lasting memories with friends and family.

James Michael Kepper was predeceased by his parents, James Harald and Norma Moniene Kepper, who undoubtedly welcomed him into eternity. His legacy of service, devotion to family, and community spirit will forever be remembered and celebrated by those he leaves behind.
