James William "Red" Walker, 94, of Fort Worth went home to be with his Lord, Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at a Paris medical center.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel, Dr. D.L. Moody officiating. Burial: will follow in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
He was born June 22, 1916, in Oletha, the son of Ernest and Avie Lee Sqyres Walker. He married Marjorie Irene Baze in Sherman, March 26, 1947. He worked in the maintenance department for the Fort Worth ISD. He was a member of Deer Creek Masonic Lodge #510 AF&AM. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Blossom and previous a longtime member of Pleasantview Baptist Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Jo Ann Boutwell; and daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Robert Horton.
Survivors: Son, J.W. "Bill" Walker Jr. and wife, Ernestine, of Azle; daughters, Sharon Colvin and husband, Barney, of Azle, Gayle Stevens and husband, Arvie, of Paris; son-in-law, Danny Boutwell of Aledo; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.
