Born on August 26, 1969, Jason Paul Romero, left his earthly home Monday, June 4, 2018 at the age of 49. Jason was born in Rapid City, SD and passed away suddenly. He will be missed and forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Amber, and their precious children Allyson, Caleb, and Joshua. Jason is the son of Dr. Saundra Gilfillan and Larry Romero and the brother of Matthew (Marilupe) and Jared (Jessica). He also leaves behind a son, Jaenon.
Jason will be missed by his aunts, Jan May and Lynette (Dennis) Cooper and uncle, Dr. David (Cathlynn) Simonak, and cousins Ryan, Brady, Reese, Erin, Natalie, and Tristan. He shared many wonderful times with Amber’s family, Harry and Sandra Hopson, Selina and Richard Hansford, David and Tracy Humphreys and sisters Chelsea, Christine, Katie, and Rachel, and brother David.
Jason loved most spending time with his wife and children going to the movies (especially Marvel ones) where they could be seen dressed as characters, hanging out at Matagorda beach, and attending and coaching Caleb and Joshua’s sports teams. Jason was an active member of the Arlington YMCA. He was extremely proud of Allyson’s talent on the piano. He loved sharing videos of his children with his extended family and friends. Jason loved our Lord and Savior, serving him through the Bill Glass Ministry and by visiting inmates in Texas prisons, often times riding his motorcycle to do so.
Jason was employed with Hagar Restaurant service where he was a valued employee. He was a Certified Master Technician.
A celebration of Jason’s life will be Saturday, June 9, 2018. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 pm at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Upon conclusion of the service, Amber asks everyone to join her for a reception in Jason’s honor. The location will be announced.
