ARLINGTON -- Jerry Don Gentry, age 73 of Arlington, passed away on September 3, 2008, at a local hospital.Funeral: 10 am Monday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.Interment: at Emerald HIlls Memorial Park
Visitation: 3-5pm on Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
He was born May 5, 1935 in Dunbar, OK. to Wade
and Nellie Gentry. He served in the Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt from Feb 1956 to Dec 1957.Jerry graduated from Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tenn with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May, 1966. Jerry retired from Vought Aircraft Company after 27 years. He was an avid fisherman. He was always kind and generous to his
family and a wonderful husband. Jerry was the
best "Papa" to his 5 grandchildren; Kelli, Logan and Maddi Grimes and Jon and Kassidy Malo.
Survivors: Wife of 27 years, Judith Gentry, Daughter,
Jill Malo and husband Mat, stepson, Ralph Grimes and wife, Dede, Brother, Wayland Gentry and wife
Gail of Oregon, Sisters, Vereta Church and husband
Doug of Oregon, Doris Metcalf and husband Doyle of
Arkansas. His nephew, Charles Mashek and wife
Laura, niece, Ann Harris and husband Scott all of Arkansas,and
niece, Pam Tannenbaum of Oregon.
Visitation: 3-5pm on Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
